Soap Opera Weekly

WEEKLY: What did you think of the Emmys?
KAYE: I liked that there wasn't a host. I thought it worked well without it. It worked one hour faster, as well.
WEEKLY: The Emmys are back on ABC next year. What are your thoughts on that?
KAYE: Bring them back to New York. There's some¬thing special about Radio City. It's also easier to go out afterward. Plus, you can sneak out and have a wee jar in the middle of the show.
WEEKLY: Why didn't you walk the red carpet?
KAYE: They had a red carpet? G--damnit. I knew it! See, that's the other reason to do it in New York. There are so many red carpets in L.A. I didn't even know that was for us. Another missed opportunity.
WEEKLY: Did you get to see people from other shows?
KAYE: Yes. Did you see those Young and Restless people walk in? That's a very pretty show. They look like a fash¬ion calendar. Maybe I'll go over there and play like the mongrel king. Now let me ask you something: I heard through the grapevine that even though the bars were closed, there was a little pool party after the show.
WEEKLY: That is correct.
KAYE: I thought the pool closed at 1 a.m., but apparently not.
WEEKLY: I guess you missed that party because you were on your way to Betty Ford after the Patrón (tequila) Bar at the ABC party?
KAYE: Yeah. Betty says, "Hi." The ABC party had a good turnout. I got to see some people from Port Charles that I haven't seen. I think that's when Michael Easton (ex-Caleb) left the party because some people are still upset that he canceled that show.
WEEKLY: I heard you were dancing with Brian Frons.
KAYE: Well, we called it a dance. It was more of a discussion about what we should or should not do on the dance floor.
WEEKLY: Were you giving him your ideas for the Emmys next year?
KAYE: Yeah. I told him to nominate me, but he said it's not up to him. Blah blah blah, whatever. Who are you pickin' for next year?
WEEKLY: From what I've seen so far in 2007, Y&R's Eric Braeden (Victor), GH's Maurice Benard (Sonny), Y&R's Peter Bergman (Jack), OLTL's Michael Easton (John) and you.
KAYE: I like that. We can throw Bob Woods (Bo, OLTL) in there, and you gotta throw Tony Geary (Luke, GH) in there, too, because he always pulls it out.
WEEKLY: That's true. So if the category is Braeden, Geary, Benard, Easton, Woods and Berman, there's no room for you.
KAYE: S--t, you're right! There goes another year.
