A strong believer in "giving back," Thorsten has voluntarily contributed his talents, time, and energy to support a wide variety of charitable, educational, and cultural causes.
A partial list of charities to which Thorsten has given back includes Tails of Courage, the UMMS Foundation's Isper and Manos Fund for Pediatric Oncology, the 2011 North American International Auto Show Charity Preview, and Soap Nation iParticipate.
In addition to the above, there are also the National Prostate Cancer Coalition, First Book, Give Kids The World, Leukemia Society of America, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the September 11th Fund, Daytime Unites, Special Wishes, Inc., the March Against Drugs, the Rainbow Foundation, POZ Love Out Loud, autism charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the American Diabetes Assocation, the Second Stage Theater, the WB Yeats Society of NY, and numerous others.
Not only has Thorsten made numerous personal appearances in support of many different charitable organizations, he also donates the proceeds from sales of his book, A Solid Wheel of Colored Ribbons, and his CD, From Timber Ridge to Daymer Gardens, to his own cause, that of pediatric cancer research.
