The Slaters, winners of last year’s “Best Reunion,” found in 2007 that being reunited didn’t always feel so good. To wit: They were the primary targets of Zach’s serial-killing father and had to ward off his biological clock time bomb of an ex before their woes transferred to the next generation (Greenlee’s botched attempt to kidnap Kendall’s son, Spike, resulted in a car accident that left the boy deaf, while the couple’s firstborn, Ian, was delivered dangerously prematurely and with a host of life-threatening health problems).
Their separate but equally destructive plans to get Greenlee out of their lives led to a nasty dustup, and wouldn’t you know it? Before they could exchange “I’m sorry’s,” he was struck by a car and (natch) fell into a bomb shelter, where he remains trapped.
This is one duo for whom togetherness doesn’t come cheap.
