Rick continues his downward spiral into a deep emotional morass this week on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL as his marriage to Caroline suffers another devastating blow!
The In Depth Story: Rick's latest interaction with Caroline and Ridge sends him into yet another fit of anger, and he ends up using alcohol as a regrettable outlet to escape his pain.
Even while her husband self-destructs by drowning his sorrows in booze, Caroline finds herself succumbing to a different sort of addition -- her ongoing attraction to Ridge! Feeling protective of his protégée following their turbulent run-in with Rick, Ridge tells Caroline that he won't allow his brother to treat her poorly.
"Ridge doesn't think that Rick lets Caroline be who she could be, for whatever reason," says the elder brother's portrayer, Thorsten Kaye, adding that his alter ego's feelings for his sister-in-law have grown into something quite serious. "It's very easy to fall in love with a woman like Caroline. She's beautiful, she's kind, and she was there for Ridge when he needed her most."
Reminded of the magic they had together when sketching, Ridge and Caroline decide to start designing as a team again, but Eric has some serious reservations about what their continued collaboration could do to their family -- and his other son!
Will a cautionary lecture from the family patriarch cause these artistic "soulmates" to second-guess their deceision, or will the forbidden love they keep struggling to suppress fracture the Forrester family forever?
