Unlike their alter egos, Kaye and Young get along swimmingly!

CBS Soaps In Depth

As brothers who harbor nothing but pure disdain for one another, Rick and Ridge's adversarial tension has sparked plenty of chaos at Forrester Creations. And while  you might find their hostility to be incredibly realistic, Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) reveals that the characters' on-screen resentment never bubbled over into real life.

"I love working with Jacob [Young, Rick]," he says of his co-star. "I've known him for a long time, and he's just a cool guy." Having previously worked together as ALL MY CHILDREN'S Zach and JR, respectively, the actors are also both devoted husbands and fathers who commute long-distance to work on the soap in order to raise their children away from the superficial trappings of Hollywood.

"Jacob loves being an actor, and he comes to play," says Kaye. "It's never about him winning... he just always wants to make the scene work, and I really like that about him."

THAT'S A FACT

Although Kaye is the name he uses professionally, the actor's given surname is Kieselbach.
