The sparks that THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL's Ridge and Brooke have generated over the years are usually romantic in nature, but a workplace conversation between the former lovers was equally charged despite their current (decidedly platonic) relationship..
Brooke approached her ex to demand that he start showing her son more respect around the office. Ridge responded with his signature sarcasm, suggesting that letting Rick be CEO was akin to letting a dog that likes to stick its head out a car window drive! Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) and Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) exchanged comic volleys like seasoned pros. But there was more to the characters' spiky exchange than a war of wits, and the conversation soon shifted to Brooke's issues with Ridge dating Caroline.
"What do you talk to Caroline about"? she wondered. "Music? Do you talk about your high school years? Life before smart phones? Have you approached her about not being able to have your children?" Brooke's questions implied that he would never have with Caroline what he'd shared with her for so many tumultous, but unforgettable, decades.
Ridge ceded the blonde's point, but he ultimately made one of his own, too. "I don't know her favorite band, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't know mine. And we probably son't have kids together," he admitted. "But she knows who I am right now, not 25 years ago, and that means an awful lot to me. It seems we do our best work when people leave us alone. So maybe you could do that...for old time's sake."
