Fatal Explosion for Ian and Eve?
Soap Opera Weekly - December 5, 2000
By Joanne Gallo

Soap Opera Weekly, December 5, 2000An explosion rips through the hospital this week on Port Charles.  The blast marks the birth of a new PC, but could prove deadly for Ian and Eve.

As the doomed pair say goodbye outside the recover room -- the site of Lucy's belated Thanksgiving dinner -- a blast shatters the windows and sends everyone flying.

"One of my typical Lucy parties goes awry," jokes Lynn Herring (Lucy). Thorsten Kaye and Julie PinsonAlthough no one inside gets seriously hurt, Lucy assumes the worst about Eve and Ian, having spotted them outside together before the boom.  When Lucy later tells Kevin what she saw, "it causes a big mess," Herring adds.  "Kevin basically falls apart, and not in a Ryan-esque way at all, but like a man grieving for his wife."  To add insult to injury, "Kevin thinks maybe there was something going on between Even and Ian."

Thorsten Kaye and Julie PinsonOf course, friend and reluctant ex-lover Lucy comforts Kevin in his hour of need.  "I think she's just confused, because that's the guy; he's always been her knight in shining armor," Herring reveals.  "Scotty was always her soul mate in crime, in fun and shenanigans, but Kevin is her dream date, her dream man.  And she's been trying, darn it, to be so good, but all those inklings are still there; the spots only changed halfway. It's chemical and it's deep in her heart that she still loves him."

Even though Kevin still loves Eve, what will happen now that she seems to be out of the picture?
