This week's guest is Thorsten Kaye, who plays Zach on All My Children.

Carolyn:  Are you happy you re-signed your contract?
Thorsten:  Yes.  We have the possibility to tell a good story here.
Carolyn:  Are you going to do that?
Thorsten:  That's not up to me.
Carolyn:   Some of the Zendall fans are mad at me because you and I did a Carolyn's Corner where we talked about Hannah and feelings Zach might still have for her.  Apparently,  they just want Zach and Kendall to be happy and hug their baby for the rest of their lives.
Thorsten:   I have that at home; that doesn't sound too interesting to me as an actor.  I think Zach wants something different.  I wouldn't apologize for any of it.  You need dramatic structure.  To ignore problems is not dramatic.  Are those fans upset with Kendall, too?  About how she still has feelings for Ryan?  Because it's the same thing.  She has a child with Ryan, Zach had a child with Hannah.  Kendall had a long time to figure this s--- out with Ryan, and she's still not over him.  Still with the longing looks.  I know he's good-looking, whatever, but all this longing doesn't make sense to me.  If she wants to be with the guy, be with the guy.  But you certainly can't judge a man who had a child with Hannah wanting to see what happened. 
Carolyn:  Do you think Zach gave Hannah the sperm to have another baby?
Thorsten:  For what?  So they could make another giant baby with a British accent?  No.  There are too many holes in that story.  First of all, I don't think she was a good mother to the first kid.  Now she says she didn't know this, didn't know that.  It took her 3 1/2 years to get to Pine Valley?  Did she swim from Asia? 
Carolyn:  Is Hannah really gone?
Thorsten:  Yes.  But that doesn't mean she won't come back.
Carolyn:  Tell me how Zach is involved in JR's kidnapping this week.
Thorsten:  Well, Junior fakes his own kidnapping and, you know, they ask for $100 million.  So his father goes to the richest man in town, who happens to be me.   He has to go to the devil himself to get the money.  So I say, "Okay, here's $100 million, but as collateral I want all the stock in your company.  I want all your money.  I want your house, I want your cars, I want everything you own."  But Junior is in a pickle, because he told his dad that he was kidnapped by somebody, and his dad actually stood up for him and helped him with everything.  And that's not going to end well for them.
Carolyn:  Oh, I like that.  Will Zach be working a lot with Adam?
Thorsten: Yes, which I am really enjoying.  Penny, our stage manager, always says that working with David Canary is a privilege; I didn't know what that meant until I started working with him.  What a pleasure.  Not just that he's a great actor and is always there and all that, but he's a great person.  You talk to this guy...did you know he was drafted by the Denver Broncos?
Carolyn:  No!  You know, he's got, like, 11 Emmys.
Thorsten:  And I know why.  He wants to make the scene work, not just his part of the scene.  Sometimes in this medium we get so busy and so frustrated with what our characters do that we forget how our scenes fit into the play.  As a stage actor, David understands that and he's concerned about it.  You know, not just making the scene work, but making sure that we don't create gaps for later.  I like that.
Carolyn:  Is Ryan involved in any of the kidnapping story?  Or is he too busy with all of his wives?
Thorsten:  Yeah, what's that about?  Is he Mormon?  I'm not sure, actually.  I'm just waiting for Rebecca Budig to come back to make this really interesting.
