There wasn’t much that was enjoyable about the first few hours after ALL MY CHILDREN’s Kendall was brought into the emergency room in way-too-early labor. Between the painful contractions and Kendall’s terror about possibly losing her baby, the tension streamed right out of the set and into our living rooms. But Zach’s arrival seemed to help the expectant mom calm down, and the moments when the Slaters lovingly looked at the ultrasound of their first child together gave viewers a sweet respite from the constant fear. “He’s doing just fine,” the doctor said, accidentally letting slip the baby’s sex. “It’s a boy,” Zach said dazedly while Kendall grinned. “Our son, Zachery Ethan,” she added. But Zach had another idea. “No. Not Ethan, Zach or Junior. He’s going to have his own name. No imprint of the past. Free to be whatever he wants to be. All he needs from us is love.”
