Despite their mutual affection and obvious attraction, ALL MY CHILDREN’s Kendall and Zach aren’t known for being completely open and honest with each other. But the Staters started the new year off right when Kendall helped her secretive husband deal with the fear that he was somehow responsible for his mother's death and the murders at Fusion. "Your friends were killed. There's a message in that for me, and I need to find out what that is," he said gruffly, sidestepping her attempts to comfort him. Of course, Kendall is nothing if not persistent. She met his efforts to send her away with a stubborn refusal. "I have tried living without you, and I hated every single second of it," she said. "I trust that you will keep me safe." Zach's inability to accept his wife's faith in him was devastating, but Mrs. Slater stood strong. "We're in this together, you and I. And we will fight, and we will win. You and I will save each other," she promised, embracing him. "It's always, only us."
