Q. I'm concerned about something on OLTL. I remember Patrick faking his death so he and Marty could be together when both actors left the show back in 1997. Now, Patrick is "really" dead, but I can't figure out what happened to him. Can you explain how he really died?
A. His fake death was most definitely made clear, but his real death gets a little shady. When Marty returned to Llanview in 2006, she did tell everyone that Patrick had died, but the circumstances of his passing were not really dealt with at the time. Things became clearer in 2007, when both she and Cole were taken hostage and held captive in Ireland by Simon Ryerson. Marty had believed the criminal to be Patrick's friend, when in reality, he was a member of the Men of 21 terrorist organization that Patrick had been running from when he first appeared on the show in 1995! It was finally revealed that Simon had killed Patrick in an attempt to obtain damaging information about the group that he belieed Marty's hubby had in his possession.
